GMI launches GMI China

GMI's enabling platform, market research software, and consumer panels -- all in Chinese -- support China's rapidly growing research industry.

China now has the world's fastest growing economy and is expected to rank number one globally by 2045. It is a market that one simply cannot ignore.

With the examples of Japan and Korea before it, China has an export-oriented growth model capable of fully leveraging an enormous literate workforce, a robust industrial infrastructure, a rich history of achievement, and a national desire to become the world's next superpower.

This month marks an important milestone in GMI's operating history, the establishment of GMI China. New clients in China include such major organizations as Dentsu, AIP, and Fusion Consulting. Led by Patrick Pun based in Shanghai, GMI China is quickly moving to offer the Chinese research profession an enabling platform for conducting both high-quality domestic research, as well as access to global panels for global consumer understanding initiatives. GMI's Net-MR suite is already available in Modern Chinese, the language spoken in Mainland China. (During April, Net-MR will be released in Traditional Chinese.) Both GMI product literature, as well as the GMI website are available in Modern Chinese. GMI's China panel has grown to more than 1.2 million members.

From March 19-21, GMI CEO, Rob Monster, and GMI's MD, International, Bob Chua, joined Patrick Pun at the bi-annual meeting of the China Market Research Association (CMRA) in the capital city of Beijing. Rob presented a keynote address highlighting "China's Opportunity and China's Challenge" as it relates to market research. Rob also highlighted GMI's commitment to building a major presence in China in the years ahead.

Meetings with top CMRA officials and senior government associations focused on the enabling strategies to accelerate the growth and maturation of China's nascent research industry, already comprised of more than 2,000 research firms.
