November 2006 GMI Newsletter

Welcome to the November 2006 edition of our newsletter.

A message from Rob Monster, CEO

Welcome to GMI's November 2006 customer newsletter. I am pleased to provide you with an update on GMI's recent progress across several areas, including organizational growth, panel development, product development and our commitment to provide industry-leading customer care.

Organizational growth
During November, GMI's global organization grew to more than 300 salaried persons, now located in 29 cities on six continents. Our technical staff alone has grown to more than 100 full-time professionals located at our technical centers around the world, the largest of which is located in Vancouver, Canada. In addition, the acquisitions over the past 20 months of NetReflector, MI Pro, Media Intelligence and Appian Analytics have added important capabilities to our intellectual braintrust and technology toolbox, representing nearly a thousand combined years of software development time.

Panel development
GMI's global panels are among the fastest-growing in the world, now covering more than six million households and a growing number of niche specialties based on targeted recruitment into dedicated portals. In late December, GMI will release a set of upgraded panel management technologies on a unified panel management platform across all panels. The platform upgrade sets the stage for accelerated panel development, with some $18 million in panel recruitment planned for 2007.

Integrated solutions for market intelligence
A core element of GMI's innovation program revolves around the development of an integrated "operating system" connecting research buyers, research suppliers, respondents and intermediaries - all in real time and with unprecedented efficiency. Enterprise Research Management (ERM), Research Analyzer, MyGMI portal and Call Solutions Network are all examples of applications that sit on top of the operating system - one that will increasingly support non-GMI applications and web services developed by, and in partnership with, GMI partners.

InsightCafe.com
The launch of InsightCafe.com is an important step in GMI's commitment to connecting research buyers and research suppliers via a destination portal for the industry. This month we are pleased to announce the call for experts to join Experts on Demand, a new service that is designed to connect buyers of insight with providers of insight. This service is envisioned to become the market research industry's premier global resource for finding market intelligence specialists.

Delighting customers
GMI is committed to customer satisfaction and is investing heavily in the expertise, infrastructure and process innovation that enables scalable growth and is backed by a culture that is striving to achieve zero defects. In November, GMI also introduced an expanded global customer care organization, aligned closely with the product management groups, to provide knowledgeable technical support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Investing for the long term
We believe that we are still in the early stages of seeing how the Internet will transform the global market research industry in ways that will create exciting new opportunities for forward-looking participants. The closing of $35 million private equity financing in June 2006 is a relatively large financing by market research industry standards. With no debt and significant financial reserves, GMI is well positioned to continue to invest for the long term.

Thank you for your interest and support. I wish you an auspicious year-end holiday season. If we can support you better, I invite you to reach out to GMI at +1-206-315-9300 or via email.

Sincerely,

Rob Monster
Chairman and CEO

Israel ranks last in the Q3 2006 Nation Brands Index

"Israel's brand is by a considerable margin the most negative we have ever measured in the NBI," comments Simon Anholt about the findings of the Q3 2006 Anholt Nation Brands Index (NBI). Created by government advisor Simon Anholt and powered by GMI, the Index surveyed 25,903 online consumers across 35 countries about their perceptions of those countries. Israel came last in each area measured - by a wide margin. There is nowhere that respondents would like to visit less than Israel, and its people were voted the most unwelcoming in the world.

U.S. self-confidence also waning

The Index also revealed cracks in America's self-perceptions. This quarter, domestic respondents ranked their country sixth for governance - after Canada, Switzerland, the UK, Australia and Sweden. Just one year ago, in the Q3 2005 NBI, Americans ranked themselves first in all six areas of national competence.

American consumers spending strong, but buying cheaper,
finds latest GMI Poll

While 78% of U.S. respondents in the latest GMI Poll expect to spend the same or more on holiday gifts this year, 64% selected 'discount stores' as their first or second stop when purchasing holiday gifts.

A majority, nearly 80% of U.S. consumers, will shop online again this holiday season, and 39% selected it as their #1 shopping destination. The survey polled 14,202 consumers in 15 countries.
